April 27 2015...................Full paper submission (extended)
June 8 2015......................Notification to authors
June 22 2015.......................Poster submission deadline
June 30 2015......................Poster notification
September 16 2015.....................Conference in Nantes

=== Scope===

CMSB 2015 solicits original research articles on the analysis of biological systems, networks, data, and corresponding application domains. The conference brings together computer scientists, biologists, mathematicians, engineers, and physicists interested in a system-level understanding of biological processes. It covers both academic research as well as industrial applications.

Contributions must be related but not limited to:

* formalisms for modelling biological processes,
* models and their biological applications,
* frameworks for model verification, validation, analysis and simulation of biological systems,
* high-performance computational systems biology and parallel implementations,
* model inference from experimental data,
* model integration from biological databases,
* multi-scale modelling and analysis methods,
* computational approaches for synthetic biology.

Case studies in systems and synthetic biology are especially encouraged.

=== Submission Guidelines===

We invite for two types of submissions:
(1) Original Papers;
(2) Opinion Papers;

Accepted papers will be fully published in a Springer’s Lecture Notes in Bioinformatics (LNBI) and fully indexed. The following type of paper should be submitted for publication. Please note the page number for each type of paper.

(1) Original Papers: The limit of the paper is 12 pages. Appendices will not not be counted in the page limit. Submitted papers should describe original work that has not been previously published and is not under review for publication elsewhere. Topics of original contributions must fall within one of the following categories:
- Theory
- High performance methods
- Tools
- Case studies (applications of systems biology methods to real cases or new open questions in biology that require a systems biology approach)

(2) Opinion Papers: The limit of the paper is 2 pages. Appendices will not not be counted in the page limit. Submitted papers should present original descriptions of concrete biological models that lead to open questions or methodological locks when considered as systems biology case studies. These descriptions must be precise enough to motivate future developments of computational methods for a broad audience.

All papers for both categories must be submitted electronically as PDF files via EasyChair (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=cmsb2015)

Accepted (Original and Opinion) papers must be presented at the workshop by one of the authors.

===Special Issue ===
We plan to invite extended versions of selected Original papers to a special issue in Biosystems (Elsevier). Such contributions will be regularly peer-reviewed according to the standard journal policy, but they will be handled in a shorter time than regular submissions.
