Analyse factorielle a correspondance multiple
Bonjour a tous,
Excuse me for my bad, frensh, since I use englsih more :
Ma question est la suivante : j’ai une enquête a analyser avec AFCM (Analyse factorielle a correspondance multiple) et j’en ai trop de question a projeter sur les axes, ma question est comment ont peux distinguer les variables qui il faut les utiliser dans l’analyse.
Je peux pas utiliser toutes les variables par ce que ils sont plus que 140 questions, donc comment on peut choisir les plus significatives.
NB : j’utilise SPAD dans mon analyse
Merci d'avance pour vos reponses

Re: Analyse factorielle a correspondance multiple
Hi Ahmad,
The real question is not the number of variables you want to enter in the analysis but the number of people who answered the questions (the line number of your data table) ?
First you should check (in a book for example) if MCA require a greater number of individuals than the number of variables because may multivariate analyses have this kind of prerequisites.
Moreover, the use of a multivariate analysis is a way to eliminate correlated variables. Maybe you can chose some variables according to a priori hypotheses about their meaning or their possible correlation with other chosen variables.

Re: Analyse factorielle a correspondance multiple
Hi Nik:
Thank you for your answer
As I know that the number of observations should be five times the number of variables. So I don’t have any problem like this with my data, but my question was is there any criteria to eliminate the non-significant variables or we should use all the variables.
Many thanks

Re: Analyse factorielle a correspondance multiple
Sure you can eliminate variables who don't influence the analysis. To do this, look at the contributions of each variables and/or look on the factorial map to see shot arrows representing variables of low interest.
